ESCO Projects

As per CEA report, and further study by Bureau of Energy Efficiency , the total electrical energy consumed in India is 577.3 b KWh with a saving potential of 75.4 billion KWh by implementing energy efficiency and energy conservation in various sectors which is more than the overall energy deficit of 73.1 billion KWh in India reported during 2007-08.

To promote Energy Efficiency and energy conservation measures, Government of India enacted The Energy Conservation Act-2001. ADB study (2004) of Demand Side Management potential in industry, buildings, municipalities and the study by National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency that seeks to unlock a market potential of Rs. 74,000 crores (INR) and an avoided capacity addition of 19,000 MW in India.

Looking towards the market potential Desire established it self a Leading ESCO Company In India with the specialization of energy saving in water supply and Pumping system, and now having many of the prestigious and successfull ESCO Projects which are being executed since 2010.

Along with the above major ESCO projects in water supply segments , desire have implemented many projects in lighting and water supply to various Industries and achieved saving from 30% to 80%, by deep study of Qualified and experienced engineering team, and with the use of energy efficient products.


Based on the various presentations and study reports by Desire Energy , In year 2010 Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED), Rajasthan awarded a Pilot ESCO project of only 28 submersible Pumps in Deeg & Kama, which is the First ESCO Project for the water supply in India.

Team Desire taken this challenge and implement this project, and achieved annual saving of 6,00,000 KWH, Which cost of Rs, 30,00,000. PHED Department's engineering team was monitoring this project constantly, and in year 2012 by PHED Minister we awarded as "Rajasthan Energy Conservation Award" for this project, and this become the mile stone for Desire in the ESCO Business.



In Churu District of Rajasthan State of India, there were approx 250 Nos. tubewells and 25 Nos. Pump Houses are the source for drinking water supply to public which were maintained by Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED). Approx Power consumption of 15000KWH daily, and still the water supply to the public was not reliable and sufficient. daily and there were high cost of Operation and Maintenance of these Pumps to PHED Department.

Through a Tendering Process this entire work allotted to Desire on 19th March 2013 as ESCO Contract, we replaced all the Pumps with New 5 star rated Energy Efficient Pumps we also replace the Control Panels equipped with all Protections .

For the Monitoring and Verification we installed Electromagnetic Flow Meters and Energy Meters with each Pump sets.

Now There is saving of More than 40% and we are maintaining 24 Hrs. water supply to public, we are saving 4.8 Million Electric Units (KWH) Annually cost for INR 27 Million Rs. annually. Project is designed for 5 years.





Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan , India with population of 11 Lac, and for the water need it dependent on the surface water being fetched from approx 250 Kilo meters through an Artificial Canal (RGLC) to Kailana Lake in Jodhpur, the demand of Jodhpur city by 2013 was approx 150 MLD, However due to pumping inefficiency of the pumping system was installed at Kailana Lake, the production was only 90 MLD.

On 20.09.2013 through bidding process PHED Department awarded the ESCO Project to Desire for 10 years. Engineering Team of Desire find out the reasons behind inefficiency of the existing system, and installed the new efficient system with production capacity of 170 MLD.

Now the annual saving from this project is 50,18,000 KWH (Unit) , cost for Rs. 3 Crore annually, with production of 155 MLD. The project is being operate through SCADA system, and Hourly Production and consumption detail are available on web portal www.escokailana.com for the transparent working, with government. The pumping system is designed for water demand up to 2024.




In Sirohi District of Rajasthan State of India, there were approx 250 Nos. tubewells and 30 Nos. Pump Houses are the source for drinking water supply to public in major cities like Abu Road, Pindwara, Sheoganj, Reodhar , which were maintained by Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED).

Through a Tendering Process this entire work allotted to Desire on 11th February 2015 as ESCO Contract, we replaced all the Pumps with New 5 star rated Energy Efficient Pumps we also replace the Control Panels equipped with all Protections.

For the Monitoring and Verification we installed Electromagnetic Flow Meters and Energy Meters with each Pump sets.

Now There is saving of More than 40% and we are maintaining required water supply to public, we are saving 45,81,000 Electric Units (KWH) Annually cost for Rs. 2,52,00,000 annually. Project is designed for 5 years.

The all 250 Nos. pumps are being operated through remote monitoring system, and daily live datas are also available on www.escosirohi.com web portal.

The demand of Jodhpur city in 2015 was approx. 45 MLD, However due to pumping inefficiency of the various pumping stations in city for the distribution, the production was only 28 MLD with average power consumption of 55,00,000 KWH Annually.

Bharatpur is one of the largest city of Rajasthan , India with population of 3 Lac, and for the water need it Majorly dependent on the surface water being fetched from Chambal through Pipe Line, and there is one more source of water Bandh Barethan. The demand of Jodhpur city in 2015 was approx. 45 MLD, However due to pumping inefficiency of the various pumping stations in city for the distribution, the production was only 28 MLD with average power consumption of 55,00,000 KWH Annually.
